Finance Intern

CONTRACT PERIOD: 3 months with possibility of Extension

JOB SUMMARY

To discharge support duties of administrative and financial nature that will ensure smooth running of activities and overall improvement of the organization’s processes and services rendered.

Key Duties/ Responsibility
  1. Assisting in data entry on Navision system.
  2. Assisting in raising of payment vouchers and writing cheques for both administration and projects expenses.
  3. Filing of all supporting documents for administration and projects and ensuring the filing system of the organisation is in order.
  4. Issuing of cheques to suppliers and ensuring all payments are receipted and attached to the respective supporting documentation.
  5. Prepare a schedule of month – end closing balances of ALL Bank accounts by the 5th of every month.
  6. Prepare a monthly schedule of uncollected cheques, cancelled cheques, borrowed funds if any by the 5th of every month.
  7. Update and verification of the fixed asset register
  8. Follow up of proper filling of log books with the drivers
  9. Stamping of all documents paid with the “PAID” stamp
  10. Maintenance of the vehicles register and ensuring allocation of vehicle expenses are charged to the respective projects
  11. Assisting in preparation of reports to management and donors
  12. Assisting in the quarterly review of the actual stock take of the fixed assets and office consumables
  13. Assisting in preparing donor budgets.
  14. Manage the petty cash of the office and ensure proper accountability for all petty replenishment.
  15. Performing any other duty as may be assigned for the overall success of CREAW Programmes.

Suppliers, visitors to the organization, donor’s representatives/officials, among others.

Should have the ability of applying the basic accounting principles in every aspect of the job.
 
Critical Technical Skills and Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft office skills Ms Excel and word and the basic accounting theory concepts learnt.

  • Good time management skills and be able to deliver with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to contribute to the overall objectives, mission and goals of CREAW.

 

Related Job Requirements / Qualifications
Must have professional qualification with a minimum of certificate /diploma in business administration /management
Holds a minimum of CPA Section III

None


Working conditions
The position will be based in Nairobi, with infrequent travel to the field.
