CONSULTANCY: SKILLS TRAINING FOR WOMEN LEADERS
TERMS OF REFERENCE
CREAW is a non partisan, non governmental women rights organization whose vision is to have a just and equitable global society. Its mission is to champion, expand and actualize women’s human rights through policy and legislative reforms.
Through its Leadership and Governance Program, CREAW seeks to strengthen women leadership and accountability in Kenya as well as promote opportunities for women in development. By building the capacity and strengthening the skills of women and women leaders through mentorship, training and support in media, they are able to engage in and articulate County issues thus influencing legislation and policies that resonate with people’s needs, interests and priorities.
In light of this, CREAW seeks a consultant to conduct a 2 day training session for Women Members of the County Assembly in Nyeri and Meru Counties. The broad objective will be to ensure that women have increased skills, resources and opportunities to contribute towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Achieve gender equality and empower women and girls), build the confidence of the elected and nominated women leaders and strengthen their ability to articulate women issues by being effective policy makers and legislative implementers.
The specific Modules that the facilitator will be required to train on are:
- Gender responsive budgeting and accountability
- Policy development and formulation.
- Gender responsive budgeting and accountability.
- Public Speaking and Public Relation Skills
- Advocacy and lobbying
- Caucusing and Movement Building
The agreement period is for a period of two (2) days per County Training. The tentative training date for Nyeri and Meru counties is on the 13-14th December 2017.
The consultant will be required to provide their own transport to the Counties.
The consultant shall perform and complete these services efficiently with skill and diligence.
