SKILLS TRAINING FOR WOMEN LEADERS – TERMS OF REFERENCE

Introduction:

Centre for Rights Education and Awareness is a non partisan, non governmental women rights organization whose vision is to have a transformed and just global society. It’s MISSION is to champion, expand and actualize women’s rights.

Project Description:

Through its Leadership and Governance Program, CREAW seeks to strengthen capacity and pipeline of women who are willing to participate in decision making structures in Kitui County as well as promote opportunities for women in development.  Under this program, CREAW supports women leaders in various decision making spaces at both the national and county level towards pushing, lobbying, advocating and agitating for the women’s agenda at all fronts to address the inequality and marginalization that women have faced in the political, socio-economic and cultural context. In light of this, CREAW seeks a consultant to conduct a 3 day training session for Women in various Leadership position in Kitui County. The broad objective will be to increase opportunities for women to participate in decision making spaces in both national and county levels. But more specifically the facilitator will be required to train on:

  1. Overview of the Constitution and Statutory Framework for Women Leadership in Kenya
  2. Gender Sensitization
  3. Communication Skills
  4. Public speaking and Public relation skills
  5. Mobilization skills, negotiation and lobbying
  6. Caucusing and movement building
  7. Concepts of ethical leadership and accountability.

The tentative training days are as follows;

  1. First batch (35 women): 14th  -16th February
  2. Second batch(35 women): 28th-2nd March

The consultant shall perform and complete these services efficiently with skill and diligence.
